Freshman Initiation Ideas Football
am very fascinated by the steampunk. These objects rethought, redesigned and recreated with a precise constraint: petroleum products are not yet available, or the oil is up (sooner or later will). Most of these objects does not work or only because it is embedded within a product already on the market, full of plastic and other components that owe their existence to oil. Steampunk suggests using wood, brass, glass, much more noble materials, rare and expensive plastic. The presence of pipes, valves, analog gauges with the hand that moves along a millimeter, buttons and levers and knobs, makes these works of art, the symbol of old age as well as future, revealing the transient nature of time in which we live, the pause of the oil that is considered the only real engine of progress and exponential in recent times.
When will the oil will disappear the illusion on which the optimism that comes from wealth, benpensare souls ennobled by a sense of guilt that oozes from the lifestyle of the rich countries, who until recently defined the poor as underdeveloped. The watchword for the development, growth, more swollen bellies, lives longer and longer, wider and wider smiles, life as a ride on ride: smooth, fun and carefree. Steampunk made me blossom in the head the idea that these objects should not seem so strange, unrealistic, worthy of a fantasy world, because they are completely accepted in a world without oil, are the objects that we would, or that we will in the future , in his hands if there was oil and a whole world economy based on exploitation. Not to mention the effects on the populations that they live, on the extraction.
We often speak of alternative energy sources, possibly green. Assuming that humanity has already triggered an irreversible process of extinction, we hear every day prophesy exciting future, the usual things for ages: live long, flying machines, abundant energy at almost no cost, end violence, end of ignorance, the end of races, religions, differences in general. A world in Star Trek where the food comes out of a vending machine that gets recycled our own shit in a closed circle where the only differences are the color of tights that are authorized to wear in the morning, where the surgeon works with a pen colored instead of the scalpel and the most stupid game of chess on five platforms in three dimensions.
not know about you, but I no longer believe the gun cotton, but I tend to return to a past painful for anything much better than was, but surely even the worst of many future with whom we hold in high spirits but never realized. Take note of the differences between now and whatever we do, two centuries is good or do four centuries ago? The time it takes to get from Bergamo to Milan is the same as when you travel with the horse-drawn cart, but now use machines that can reach 200 per hour. It then dies as incurable diseases, genetic defects, accidents. You work a lot more than we did then, it is much more sad and anxious and worried. The wars are still there, as well as criminals or madmen who kill you for money, sex or so, for no real reason, just for fun.
If it were not for oil we would use mobile phones to steam? We will move hundreds, thousands, often without reasonable grounds, maybe by plane to spend a week than the usual half a world away? How would this in a world without oil, is a fascinating subject to explore, we skies blackened by soot from coal? People behave as if they really use the oil was normal, as if they never had to end, and the brackets of alienation which wallows in the culture (Modern? Post-modern? West or do we call it oil?) Persists and reproduces' infinite self-deception, or of things will get better, there will always be more and there will be for everyone. Too bad that the Earth has limits, it can produce plenty of stuff to satisfy a multitude of people.
